Mckee Race Cars. Until recently race car driver sydney mckee 21 was fairly invisible at racetracks which she describes as typically thronged with male drivers male fans and scantily clad grid girls it was assumed i was a girlfriend she says not that i was there to race and go out and kick your butt. This car is the show car.
I started racing the car in vintage racing events in june 2006. Two cars were built the first going to ike uihlein. Owned by bob stanford mars pa and pictured here it first raced as early as the dec 1969 sebring event it was variously described as a 7f or 7s.
One of the 1967 mckee mk vii can am cars was converted for formula a after it was crashed heavily by bob nagel at mid ohio.
It was built in 1969 by bob mckee for team nappi racing tito nappi and raced by kurt reinold. By the early to mid 1960 s he was building racers under his own surname. Reinold took two more third places in the championship and another third in the arrc at the end of the year. The car was originally owned and raced by budd clusserath on the cro sal racing team w gene crowe as mechanic.
