Edmunds started his career in 1948 under an alias but it was his car building skills that he became most famous for. This design became the dominate sprint car chassis suspension and is still extremely close in design to the sprint cars built 40 years later. Now he is building scale models. He won the 1957 indianapolis 500 rookie of the year after finishing nineteenth over bill cheesbourg elmer george mike.
